Let me chime in for a second with my thoughts...

I for one don't have a problem spending some $$ for an all-day locker, especially during water park season and Fright Fest. Gives me a secure place to stash one or both drink bottles (if Tina's with me) and extra clothing for when it gets cooler, especially with something else that can be a bit controversial - the re-entry cutoff time during Fright Fest...

There are many valid points and arguments, but from what I've seen the biggest complainers about the locker costs are the GP...

    Just my $0.02...

Larry, you could have saved your .02 cents and put it towards the ride locker you'll need in a couple of weeks! :) lol!

Also lets put this into perspective - it costs an average $65 for a season pass to SFNE with a "free" upgrade to gold that includes free parking, entry to all SF parks and early entry. From September-January 1st or 3rd of the following year. Even if your home park is closed. (Assuming you buy during the Flash sale.) The same pass for Cedar Fair parks costs over $200.

A season pass to my local water park that is only opened from Memorial Day to Labor Day costs $99!

What is a Lake Compounce season pass? Around $100?

So is a $1 locker really an issue?

This is simply uncalled for. I hate the lockers. I won't pay for them. I do have limited free cash so it's money I could be spending on something else like food. But to say I shouldn't visit because of that is just wrong. I visit the park only every once and a while. The fact they charge so much for parking, admission food, etc, they don't need more out of me. What I save my money up for and use should not be your call nor should I be expected to pay for every little thing the park decides I should spend money on.

The lockers are a money grab. The bins really didn't slow things down all that much. amazingly they worked in 2003-2005 when the chain and SFNE were hitting record numbers they aren't pulling today. and capacity isn't an excuse when they remove the real and front dedication lines and add VR which both sucked up capacity more then any use of bins ever could.

Also while SFNE gets more attendance they have more coasters. Which means more capacity and spread out crowds. LC and Canobie have attendance sitting a bit under a million and half the coasters and if you add the water park in SFNE has more attraction then either park. so demand on these parks attractions are similar day to day but they both offer bins on their rides and load times are as good and often better then SFNE. Load times and capacity will see a bigger boost from well trained dedicated employees then a locker ever could.

I don't normally use lockers so this is no issue for me. I usually just stick my phone in my sock or sit on it.

But anyway, if I ran SFNE the first thing I would do is get new trains for STR. Maybe not exactly new trains, but I'd try to get the T-bars back but if I couldn't do that, I'd get El Toros restraints. And I would take the headrests off for that old school SROS open feel. Oh yeah, and I'd get the seats for 5-2 back.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! You got this back on topic!
I completely agree with your idea. Either new trains like Darien Lake got last year, or literally just go at the bottom of our bulky restraints with a saw.

It was @Bizarperman that said "You expect everything to be free and be your way" implying those against paid lockers (including me) are freeloaders. To your point, I am done with this also as we can just agree to disagree.

This is actually pretty hilarious because if anyone is the freeloader it's @xsarabella and I. We don't spend any money and yet love to complain about our free food. :D

Actually instead of if I ran the park if I ran the company id sell all parks but SFNE and SFMM. with the money made from the sold parks SFNE would quadruple in size, finally get a launch coaster, a intamin blitz, a b&m flyer, 25 new flat rides, scrap the vekomas, add a traditional woodie, a RMC woodie, and the first ever coaster to have a lift hill over 500ft. Within 5 years the company will be bankrupt but those will be 5 very fun years :)

Well this is exactly why none of us run the park or the company... imagine a company that didn't charge their paying customers for anything? They wouldn't have any "customers" and wouldn't be in business.

I for one love the convenience of the ride lockers and the ability to set my own combo instead of the old way where a receipt with a barcode would print and you need that paper to reopen it... which really defeated the purpose of a locker to not lose stuff...

Also I love that the park makes money off these ride lockers and that SFI gives us new coasters that will need more ride lockers, and also gives us new trains on coasters, and renovates the bathrooms and gives us new toilet paper holders. Also all the income from the ride lockers (that the park supposedly makes so much money off people who never rent lockers) to pay employees to work longer seasons and even entertain the thought of having Holiday in the Park.

Then again this is just business & economics 101.

On a more serious note - If I ran the park I would use the money from ride lockers and plant more trees (and more ride lockers)

I'd still love to see the park separate the security line from the turnstile (a la Great Adventure). There's always quite a bit of congestion that slows down the process. Logistically I don't know the best way to go about this, but I'm sure there's a way they could figure it out.

Another change I'd like to see is the return of both the cut-through to Crack Axle Canyon and the cut-through to the South End from Kidzopolis. The flow of traffic (specifically near Buzzsaw) is a nightmare almost everytime I walk through it, and I'd imagine that cut-through could help a little bit. Crack Axle isn't so bad, just a hassle to walk all the way down to the gazebo area just to walk all the way up the Main St. hill again.

Lastly, I would pave the employee parking lot and put in actual parking spaces (with lines and stuff). If you know, you know.
