Wildcat was awesome!! There's a couple more spots they'll need to finish in the off season and some serious paint but its safe to say the park successfully revived this classic woodie!!!

Great description. If I may, I'll even add that for all the anticipated openings that always seemed to be only a week away since May but didn't happen and for all the hemming and hawing and heckling that accompanied those expectations that fell short, ultimately this bigger than life jigsaw puzzle of a wooden coaster took shape, and an amazing and inspiring one at that.

Like some of you who have and many that have yet to, I rode WC this week and couldn't have anticipated just how new and yet historic WC's redo really revitalized this classic centerpiece of Lake Compounce. She's there for everyone to appreciate again; the classy lion of the jungle.

    Unbelievable.

Green train went through the brakes at full speed, heard zero brakes.

Sad! Such bad timing. I know the park's been working to look good for the upcoming Golden Ticket Awards, and now this. Not to mention that if it's not repairable this season, riders are going to miss out on the worlds best dark ride during Haunted Graveyard.

Unfortunate event indeed. I was gonna go next week but this season is (simply stated) looking like it's not worth a visit. Thank god no one was on the ride when this happened!

So I saw two mechanics come up and they talked about adding a second train. I was all for that and was getting ready to ride a bunch of times. Green train comes back and they lock it down. They dispatch it and right when it left they station, they began the transfer... with the train still going... So it flew by the station and the transfer track was inching over. The guy was having issues with getting it to line up so the other guy came over to help. Can you imagine what would have happened if the track was not lined up and the blue train wasn't there to pad the impact?? Would have been 100 times worse.

So they release the blue train and it moves up a couple feet then stops and doesn't move again. The guy was having issues getting it to go. I see the train coming in the distance and was watching it. Train came completely through the brakes and straight into the blue train at full speed. I did not hear a single brake.

This seems like a reinactment of the Smiler situation to me. Under no circumstances should that train have been moving while they were fiddling with the transfer track. The maintenance guys seem really good but they seemed to be rushing it and didn't seem to know 100% what they were doing.

I have no idea why the brakes were not in the locking position, usually they are at all times besides when the train is leaving the block. I think something went seriously wrong via maintenance mode and the guy should have been more careful. Somebody could have gotten killed if the track was not lined up and they are pretty lucky. No idea if the trains are totaled but I'm guessing at least the green train is. May be able to salvage the blue train.

The noise was unreal when it happened. Very loud, some smoke, and a burning smell. Can't believe I witnessed this, still in shock.

The word i'm hearing from the park is it was human error that caused the accident. I'm guessing the ride was left in manual mode and never switched back after they put the blue train in the station before they started the lift to send the green train out.

Yeah this definitely sounds like human error. I have no idea why they would think moving the transfer track with a live train still out on the track is running was a good idea...?
