boards were slow so I thought I would throw in a thought provoking thread.

Hall of Justice is basically a waste of money to even air condition....so how would you like to see it repurposed? Housing a ride as it had in the past? Fog, Black Lights, strobes, slammin music, and a spinning flat

    whats your idea?

    Re: repurposing HOJ

Had this been a few years ago, I would've said to demolish Johnny Rockets and the placed next to it, so they could use the football fields space and that to build a possible coaster similar to iSpeed, and then bring all of the tables, chairs, stoves, etc to HoJ and make that a new resturaunt. Double advertising. But obviously with GCG that would no longer make sense.

Now, I would prefer that they either...
A- Re-do the interior and put in a simulator. Have the screen be on the wall side where Catwoman's Whip exits, cutting into the gift shop to add more rows. They could use any remaining portion of the gift shop and a small addition to make a preshow, and then have the line go in place of the smokers zone/ outdoor eating area. When the queue passes by the big DC sign/gate, make a bridge/tunnel, whichever would make more sense.

B- Demolish and add an outdoor flat.

Joker's Wild Card was originally removed because of ventilation problems inside the building.

    Re: repurposing HOJ

I have wanted to see more Sims in New England for a long time. It's pretty sad not one park operates one and outside of small 2 seater options at Arcades there is only Mom and the D box Theatrical movie up-charge at O'Neail Cinemas in NH(2) and CT

but it woudl be very hard to install an attraction there. You could fit 1-2, 20-30 pods, open air could hold 45 perhaps. problem is Movies run 3-6 minutes and it takes a couple minutes to upload and load. so capacity woudl be very low. you need to use the building for Queue and Pre show. you cant block of that gate and a tunnel bridge is not possible. in fact the building should be made larger and the bouling woudl need proper upgrades anyways.

it had nothing to do with Agawan the state Fire codes were rewritten and were more strict. the building did not meet code. Houdini had the needed HVAC system and Had a high end Fire Suppression system. Joker had a simpler Fire Suppression system and pore ventilation. in the last year the queue are a got fans and the walls were cut open. The staging area was also opened and technically removed. worst of all to improve ventilation they started opening the garage door.
Ventilation was one of many reason. Lighting at the exits and Fire superstition both did not meet codes.

Woops. I typed it out wrong, when I said simulators I meant a 4-D type of attraction like Shrek at Universal Studios Florida, or even just a basic 3-D one like they had at Great Adventure awhile back. Simulators are very cool, just like mrceagle said, they have low capacity so they need big buildings. I think Great Adventure has the land to add one, make it multiple levels, like (sorry for all the referances to there) The Simpsons at Universal. Sorry, now I'm getting off topic...

Great Adventure had a stadium Simulator. It is a Iwerks stadium with a small Imax 70mm screen. 4D movies require less space.

The building is only 60X60 which is a tight fit. entry and stairs along the seats would eat up 24 ft. leaves 36ft or 12 seats per row. and you can have 7-8 rows. they need to build a projection booth.

that's about 84-92, more like 80-90 with Wheelchair spots. with movies your looking at a 10- 15 minute turn around so 330 to 900 pph.

maybe well get lucky and get something like universal - a spiderman type simulator with motion etc. BUT i wouldnt want a corny cheesy half done upcharge simulator, adding it as a new attraction would be great.

^That would take up a lot of space. Way more than what Hall of Justice has to offer, but it would indeed be awesome.

I think you're underestimating the amount of space that Spiderman at IOA takes up. The building is massive, I know, I've done many walk-throughs of it. The building itself would literally take up all of the DC section. An attraction of the scale would never make its way into any kind of theme/amusement park that isn't Universal or Disney.

Point, I always forget about DarKastle. But also look at the magnitude of a Busch park compared to a SFI park. The markets are completely different.

The pods for Spiderman cost 750,000 each and a small setup would use around 10 cars. that is before everything else the ride needs. and like pointed out Spiderman is huge.

there are also a couple installations into foreign parks. but like pointed out it's not an attraction we will ever see at a SFI park.

Now there are Sim Platforms that hold 15-30 at a time. I mentioned that in my first response.

Dollywood has a simulator ride that is god awful that could potentially fit with some downsizing of course. Anyone know which one I'm talking about?
