2018 Speculation

We felt the Gotham sign as you enter was lame at best. It was just off to the side of the midway instead of spanning the midway. If I wasn't really looking for it I wouldn't have seen it. They do all this and then go cheap on the Gotham sign?? Sometimes SFNE really boggles my mind.

I think the sign itself looks really good, but I think it’s location is poor. I do think that the new cohesiveness of that area is really good!

@Dr. Gigglez & @depotrat I agree the area lacks themeing and the entrance to the area doesn't do much to promote the area.

@dschu It is horribly placed its always darker on that side and if it was on the left its usually bright there and your eye would have been drawn to it.

I would have liked a sign that went across something that promoted Gotham as you walked in and Rockville as you walked back out.

An arch would’ve been better, yes, but it still looks good without being intrusive.

^IMO the whole idea of Gotham should be intrusive! Every person walking in there should know they are now in the Gotham area. A large arch with "Gotham" on it would have been the way to go instead of the "so easy to miss" sign they have now.

I have supported the change from the beginning, including the change of ME to Riddler, the move of the Tea Cups, and now the change of Slingshot to Nightwing. After all that, to go so soft on the entrance is disappointing at best.

I can't remember but I remember the Gotham logo being shows.

No, I remember them showing the same sign that ended up getting installed.

It’s not the sign that’s the problem. It’s the space, location and the way it was implemented. I do like how the pavement separates the sections, it’s very subtle, it’s a nice touch. The sign looks nice but it’s underwhelming for how much hype went into it.

Maybe more will be added over time, or perhaps a sign you walk under eventually.

I had envisioned an arch sign with something like:

Im sure thats will be coming eventualy. Hopefully that really go big with the theming. Amd get one more flat in the area, say get rid of the basketball game and move the lockers and then you make it some sort of theme to cat woman that be perfect. To bad thw tea cups are out that area could have made them themes to penguin or mr freeze. What also may help is have the appearances of the villains and heros and do little shows here and there in the area.

They need more seating for the concession stands! Get rid of the lockers for Joker and just combine them with Batman lockers. And then that space can be a nice seating area with tables. It would realistically probably only hold maybe 10-12 tables but it would still help.
