Glad to know its closer this year, Don't get me wrong Canobie is an awesome park......But a tough 3 1/2 hr drive for no roller coasters. Still an awesome event and looking forward to March 14th with the g/f and all of you!

And what do you think everyone in NH and ME has to drive the 2 hrs its at SFNE and LC. and for no coasters. Though if your heading to Canobie you can hit the Dragon at Funworld.

I'm 2.25 hours from SFNE if there is no traffic.

also try taking the small routs to get to Canobie. 9through VT to 91vt/nh, NH 101, a couple side roads to 117 across NH to Windom and a quick turn to get to north policy. should only be no more then 2.5 hours. No clue how it's taking you 3.5 hours to get from Albany to canobie.

I'm not even two hours away from all three big parks from RI. LC is probablly the farthest away considering the traffic. But not by much.

Canobie is the easiest drive, just straight up 95.

For the record on drive time, I'm about an hour and change from Canobie, about two hours and change from SFNE, and about 2-1/2 hours from LC...

But getting back to the topic, anyone care to speculate on what we're gonna get, and who's planning to attend?

I might go but everything on my end has to add up or it won't happen, I would love to go though. I say a tour of Wicked Cyclone. Or ERT on Wicked Cyclone at the rate they are going :p

My guess is pretty traditional. likely a small walking tour using the back maintenance walkway. Quassy, LC, Whalom while likely be there
Canobie is hit or miss. I'll find out what the small parks are up to but Russ won't let me talk again, while not even bothering to get the information himself.

    same old event.

I don't wanna get off topic, but I understand what you mean and I apologize if it came off rude by the way I said it. No matter where they have the event someone is gonna be driving far. Google says 3hrs so I exaggerated abit but I take I-90 east into Massachusetts, then hope onto I-290 then I-495 to finally I-93. #backontopicnow

My response came across a bit strong. no offense at all.

What I hat about Google is it's insistence of using major highways even at the expense of time and drivers sanity. you are literally goign way south to then come back up north east. and it's the pick so you have to pay tolls. that is by far the worst way I can think of to get anywhere in east central New England.

looking at my list above on the more direct drive you'd take 787 north to 7, 7 turn into rt9 in VT. Google is Claiming it takes more time close to 4 hours but i can get to Keen in a hour, canobie is a hour form me, I think it's a hour though vt. so still near 3 hours. but no tolls, and a scenic drive.

I hit the Dragon at Funworld last year after the event at Canobie to make it more worth the drive.

It's always a nice event to talk coasters and parks and collect some swag and door prizes (we got Exit passes from SFNE!) after surviving without coasters for several months. I'd love a walkback to see WC in March.

But I did skip 2013 when it was held the same day as opening day at great adventure -- had to get some El Toro instead.

Ya lot of people skipped 2013 and a few years earlier when it happened to fall on Gadv opening. But the worse day was 2 sfne Nor Easters back when it fell on Valentines Day.
