Welcome to the new site everyone. Since we lost everything in this long and bumpy rode we need to create this thread again. I already know what the hot topic will be starting out...

Yes they removed the flame throwers. I can confirm that. Here's a picture to show the box is gone.

The last time they ever ran was 8-27-10. Then the park went into daily operations and they took of the top boxes where the flames came out. They are indeed moving to another ride also... For what reason? I don't know. What ride? Obviously Texas Giant. I think its pointless. But I'm happy I got my last ride with fire on 8-27-10. Now we can all go to guest relations and can complain. But do who knows if it will really do anything.

    RIP Fire. <3

Yea I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty upset the fire is gone. While it did suck while waiting in line on a hot day, i think the fire was the best element on the ride! Its really sad to see it go. =[

I think it was a big mistake to remove the flamethrowers. I mean, that WAS like the only cool part of the whole theming change. And another thing is that the audio is royally screwed up. I didn't think it could get worse than last year, but it certainly did. The ride itself is also way bumpier than it used to be which I believe is an effect of adding these new trains.

The removal of the flame cannons is a huge disappointment. The entire theming concept has turned into a real nightmare.

As MeAmBizzaro noted, the audio has not played consistently since late last year on either train. Now with the flame cannons gone, there are no special effects for the second half of the ride (not that Bizzaro really needs any, as the sheer dynamics alone are it's own special effects.)

But the ultimate insult is Millennium Force beat it out for the 2010 Golden Ticket. I was at CP this year, and for as much as I like MF, there are at least three steel coasters I like better than it. Perhaps the voting purists didn't like the theming, and that might be the only reason, as from a ride-dynamics perspective Bizarro is still the far better of the two (in my opinion.) I don't think the new trains have impacted the ride at all - for as much as I do not care for the speaker headrests, you don't notice them as much once the ride is going, and the lap bars are no worse than the ones they replaced.

Six Flags needs to step up and stay committed to the Bizarro theming and make it right, or ditch it all together. There should be no compromise or middle-of-the-road approach. When these highly advertised effects do not work, it actually distracts from the ride experience rather than enhance it. And it makes Six Flags not look like a Disney/Universal Studios wanna-be, but a Disney/Universal never-was.

I agree because they spent 10 million on the whole thing and fire is gone and audio is probably going next so that isnt a good thing. you waste money, im not sure why they couldnt get the audio to work perfectly. The one in Jersey as far as I know works fine.

Wow, the last time I saw the flame cannons working was when we picked up our season passes Memorial Day weekend. We were there several times after that and they weren't working any of those times. When we went on Labor Day that was when I noticed that they were gone. I tweeted Mike about them, he tweeted back to me saying they were gone for good, then later since he didn't answer me about why they were removed I tweeted him a few weeks later and he told me that they went to 'another ride in another park'.

IMHO (not that it matters to any of SF management but I'm saying it anyway), since Bizarro had them first, they should've stayed there.

Anyone want to help me with a petition to bring them back?

P.S. As far as the audio is concerned, the last time I rode the yellow-numbered train the audio was fine in the back car. Most likely the cutting out and back in is caused by either loosening connections or wiring between the train cars breaking from repeated back & forth flexing.

It was 3.5 million for each transformation, totalling 7 million total that year which isn't bad, so I hear. Both audios are crap, sound quality wise, my persoanl preference is still media day, which btw GAdv switched back to. Also GAdvs fire is all messed up but I don't think its going anywhere. Don't expect the audio to be removed anytime soon. Its only the front half of the yellow train and on the blue train it doesn't register the sensore after the first tunnel but it gets picked back up in the buildings.

I'm all for a petition to get the cannons back. Al Weber can get off his cheap ass and buy another set of cannons for TG.

You are so right MeAmBizarro. The ride has gotten a lot rougher since they changed the trains. I have noticed bends in the track that I have never noticed before. It is starting to feel a lot like a Vekoma.

I've also noticed that the Intamin rattle has gotten worse during the final bunny hops, and the restraints make it even worse.

I personally noticed it on the hill right before the picture. When your at the top of the hill you kind of kick to the right then back. Iv'e also noticed it on the hill right after that where it kind of jerks you down even steeper at a sharp angle. Something like on Cyclones first drop but not nearly as severe.

We have an amazing, almost, 11 year old hyper coaster thats just starting to show its signs of aging. Even if its a tiny bit rough, which I'm sure its being a little over exaggerated but I haven't ridden it since August so I don't know, it's still a great coaster and always will be. I do know that its always been somewhat rough in the bowl, but no where near Vekoma rough, its just shuffling.

So tonight at the Season Pass Holder Event, there was one train running and a 30 minute wait... They really are pathetic sometimes.

Why is everyone assuming that the flames are going to Texas Giant? They might be going to Gree Lantern in New Jersey.
