Here are renderings of the new slides and blueprints that were submitted to the town. I apologize for the bad quality but it's the best I could do because these pictures are just screenshots from the town documents.

The addition of these slides makes a pretty good tower with the existing slides. Definitely something people can look forward to. I don't mind them adding them to the existing tower- I think they look fine with the others. My only concern is that the stairs get backed up and very tight with the existing slides so adding 2 more slides and using the same stair cases might be a bit troublesome but I'm sure they will manage.

They are cutting off quite a bit of seating there. It looks like orange slide will even hang over the wave pool. Interesting. You do have a very valid point for stairs. To do cliff hanger slide you have to fight thru people and mats. Can't imagine the "new attraction buzz" in addition to the existing backup. Why couldn't they have somehow snaked those two slides down the black cobra hill with thw other slides. Seems like a better solution than what they are doing.

Interesting. I don't mind how it looks paired with the other slides but the stairs will be an issue. They are already cramp and crowded with the current setup. Having that plus new a couple new slides will make it nearly impossible for those who do want to go on Cliffhanger, and for those new to the park, confusing how to get there. If they could have somehow designed a different set of stairs to get to the slides, I would have no issue.

The slides do look good and I like seeing then run the slides along the wave pool. that back side is only used by lifeguards I believe but It douse appear that they might loos a bit of lounge space towards the front. I'm surprised they are not adding a stair case to the tower. I have seen in many cases they snack in a second stairwell to accommodate the added slide.

Cliffhanger is by far less popular than Twisted Racer is- and my opinion is that they need to physically split the stairs with a rope or something with one side being for Twisted Racer and the other for Cliffhanger/Bonzai. It's annoying when you want to ride Cliffhanger but it takes forever to get up there (and a few times I've had to wait with the mat racer people even though I was going to Cliffhanger) because the Twisted Racer people clog the stairs. I know they have signs that tell Cliffhanger people to stay to one side and Twisted Racer people to stay on the other side, but nobody follows that so it's basically just a free-for-all.

I think the slides will look cool right above the wave pool but like others have said, a new staircase would be a plus. Also I don't know if anyone noticed but they are proposing to add a new ramp to get to the complex. So no more having to search for and find the entrance in the woods and walk down by Comet and back up the hot pavement to get there.

Canobie has always had this issue with Timber Splash. the stairs get clogged up so you have to wait for the wet side while the line for wetter clogs up the stairwell. but the popularity has dropped so much its less of an issue now.

Looks like Bonzai will open Memorial Day Weekend with the rest of the water park (according to GE's website) so that's good. Although I bet some of the days will be pass-holder only and not open to the public like they do with most rides.

That's one thing to be happy about. That opening late garbage might be one of my biggest problems with SF

The board meeting is tonight for Bonzai Pipelines. I won't be there but once the minutes get posted, I will post anything that might be worth reading. Or if anyone is planning on stopping by the meeting, feel free to tell us what happens- not that I don't expect it to pass :)

I doubt there will be much of an issue. Neighbors won't have any pull to stop it so unless there is a safety concern we should be fine.

Bonzai Pipelines was unanimously approved by the board according to the minutes that have been posted :). The slides will be 35 feet high, slide 1 will be 280 feet long and slide 2 will be 268.3 feet long. They will also build a walkway/bridge to make it easier to access the Alpine Freefalls complex. There was 1 neighbor at the meeting who complained about noise but since these are enclosed slides, he didn't have much of an argument.

Here's something interesting: so according to the meeting minutes, 15 years ago DEC came in to test the water and soil in the park to make sure the water park, or any other water source, wasn't leaking any contaminated or harmful water into the ground. A resident brought up the idea of the park doing that study again to make sure nothing has changed. Great Escape responded by saying: "It is not something we do on a regular basis, and ironically we talked about a project this morning that will probably result in that."

So let the speculation begin on what type of project that could be.

Good to hear. 35ft I didn't realize the tower was that short.

Yes. They are a bit shorter than the Mat Racer at 43 feet, and Cliffhanger is about 65 feet.

Should still be a great ride. Santa's Village has a slide tower with 3 35ft tall slides and they are very fast and exciting.
