Canobie lake park has started talked with the local government to get approval for a new coaster for 2011. The Euro Fighter will feature a nearly 75 ft hill and a 97 degree drop. The city has postponed approval pending a terrific study. The coaster fits all other requirements placed on the park by the city.

Re: Euro fighter for Canboie Lake Park

I hope they get this coaster. If they do I will make sure i go to the park. IM just leary of going to Canobie to be honest, I hear its a great park, but I want to make sure my kids can get on almost everything, I know some of the major rides they can not go on. I ma going to get there though it is a to do park on my list. This coaster would make me want to go there even more.

I doubt it will not get approved. I suspect the coaster will increase attendance 2-3 percent so it boils down to around 20 extra cars a day. The theme is amazing and will be nice to see the parks Coaster count back at 4.

I would not worry about a trip with your family. The majority of ride everyone could ride. But we could discus this in it's own topic if you like.

This coaster actually seems pretty cool. Euro fighters can be pretty sweet, and a smaller park like this, I really think would give it another edge, on a cool coaster that non of the parks around have.

It will be very unique, it will be the first Euro Fighter in the north east, steepest coaster. the capacity isn't bad. Will add a lot to the park. also since the coaster is being build in a field behind the mall it will add midway space and overall capacity to the park.

I think Canobie saw SFNE drop the ball with the Mouse Coaster and went for the kill..lol

Yup, they sent the Canobie Critters after them. Though I am confident that Canobie has a non Compete Clause with Gurstlour and teh Euro fighter model.

did they get that after Pandemonium was built? thats same company. I just honestly think that how late into the year to come out of Bankruptcy for Six Flags how they changed so much stuff we ended up with a mouse and this was to be only gained by Canobie because well look at what they are trying to do, if in fact this coaster gets put in 2011/2012 that is going to hurt SFNE in a way because people will want to go ride the bigger coaster than the mouse and how unique this coaster is . I notice with any large park improvement for the most part helps that park. They have something to market and advertise and that will attract old and new customers for sure for Canobie, it will bring me as a new customer for sure !!!

Canobie would be the last park I would think of to get an EuroFighter. This will sure be a great addition to the park, and maybe when SFNE sees how this increases Canobie's buriness and lowers theirs, they'll realize that they have to get back on the ball.

Not only will it bring you but I woudl suspect it will bring your family. This is were Canobie has always been on the ball and SFNE has been trying to get on. they have the family attraction, a large variety of kiddie attraction, and enough thrills to get them by.

They will market this heavily and in markets SFNE relies on like Worcester Mass, Which is in between SFNE and Canobie. They will also advertise the return of the Micheal Jackson show, Which will play in the Dancehall.

The park is looking at a May 2011 opening.

I have heard of canobie paying in for a steel coaster fora bout a year and a half now. But I will admit I did not expect a euro fighter. I lobbied for one but didn't expect to get it. SFNE will undoubtedly see the impact of adding a mouse. while 2 local park are adding a major coaster likeCcanobie or a family wood coaster like Quassy.

People will go to SFNE just because Season Passes are so cheap, but I will say for sure that Canobie & Quassy are going to see their attendance spike because of this !!!!!

People that buy season passes will continue to do so. the place were Canobie might pull people away is from those families only looking to do 1 maybe 2 trips a year. The story might be different.

But you made a good point. I Have been saying a while that one of Canobie's biggest downfalls is the lack of a season pass. They would see a good sale on them and with a 40% group picnic attendance they are not goign to loose much money. If Would go more often myself and actually spend more in a year then I do now.

I was actually in teh area a couple month back. heading to a store in that area. if I had had a season pass I would have stopped in for a few rides and possibly A snack. I was with my brother and his kids so chances are we woudl have at least bought them hot dogs. Instead we just drove on by.

Have you ever suggested that to them or lobbied for a season pass? I think most parks that do not have them will eventually fall into trouble because people are looking for a great deal, I personally do not want to go to a park 3 or 4 times and pay 30 or more each every time i go. Thats why i buy season passes to LC & SFNE, I bought a Cedar Fair this year, but I wont next year . IM scaling back a lot of trips next year to save for Disney..lol

Re: Euro fighter for Canboie Lake Park

I have indeed lobbied teh addition of a season pass. There were a few things that needed to happen before it was possible. one has already happened a new entrance with an updated ticket system. Another statement I got was it likely wouldn't happen till the tickets for one day was up closer to 32-35 Dollars. I suspect they will be there in the next 3 years.

At this time The park offers a special holiday sale It is normally available at teh Burlington and Rockingham malls on occasion they have branched out the sale to other malls. These tickets are normally 9 dollars off the fallowing year price so last year they were $21 dollars. They then do an opening day sale which is 8 dollars off so $22 Dollars. but if your like me and buy 3-4 days you are basically covering teh price of a season pass.

If they had a season pas I would go more often. basically because a quick afternoon visit would not be out of the question.
