Coaster Con @SFNE 2013

ACE will be holding its Coastercon event at the following host parks in 2013:

1.Six Flags New England (Agawam, MA)
2.Canobie Lake Park (Salem, NH)
3.Funtown/Splashtown USA (Saco, ME)
4.Palace Playland (Old Orchard Beach, ME)

Why isn't Lake Compounce on the list? I thought they would've been there for sure. :?

I disagree with this list. Enthusiasts come to New England for 2 reasons: Bizarro and Boulder Dash. The list should be SFNE, LC, Quassy, and Canobie, only because Quassy and Canobie have new coasters. Don't know what they were thinking here!

I agree I don't get the list. especially Palace. I assume that Place will be a morning thing with Funtown in the afternoon. so 3 main days of parks. I would expect most everyone attending will want to hit LC and Quassy.

Yeah when I saw this list I threw my arms up and said wtf and was like am I really going to drive all that way to Maine ! If they had a boulder dash/ bizarro caliber ride ok maybe but doubtful of going to Maine I may just do sfne and canobie and that's it ! I'll see when flier comes out in jan/feb the cost and what not because lets face it those parks are tiny and not worth a hotel room stay or the drive ! I went to these parks in the 90's ! Easily parks u can do in an hr each !

Bad choices for sure but possibly to help boost their parks with money and attendance I hope we can opt out of those two parks, past cons you could opt out and pay less , but a sneaking suspicion they won't

It would be better if the group was bussed for say Nashua to Mane. hit yorks, palace, and Funtown. hell even throwing in funworld would only be a hour or so. Palace is a pain because you have to pay to park. 20+ in most lots, then your paying for the park itself. you can pay for only the coasters but they do have a few worth while flats. Funtown i have not been to in years. Excalibur is good but not great, it doesn't keep it's pace. Funtowns Mouse is a clone of Gauntlet. Palace has a galaxy which is well run.

But, palace has their wisdom dragon coaster up for sale. so by 2013 they may have a replacement. that could be why they made the list.

Ya on my last they weren't rotating the arm. it really dose taken way from the ride. I now that a lot of parks have stopped the rotation. So I'm not sure if they were stopped by order of Zaperla or if it's apart hat brakes down easy and the parks just don't feel like keeping it up.

How many days dose the main event normally take up.

usually 4 days . i think it will be SFNE 4 days , canobie , them the two parks in maine on same day, people will go ride coasters and bounce ! Im thinking i may skip maine !!!!

Do you mean 2 days at SFNE?

Maine can be a good trip if you can get enough people together. Yorks has a wacky warm. nothing special but great if you have kids. Fun world can easily be hit on the way their(I'd have to check on the schedule).

I'm just hoping they do some leg work and work out some deals with other parks so that people cane hit parks as side trips and save some money.

SFNE is host so probably 3 days minimum , 1 day at canobie thats if you wanted to do one day at eat park which i doubt because lets face it , people will do art and blow out to the next place. You know thats how its going to be one day for the maine parks, they are too small for one day each , so probably 4 at SFNE !!!

What do they expect people to do with 4 days are SFNE, I can get the park done in 1 day easy. hell even with the water park that not even 2 full days. they can't exact to operate with SFNE like they do with the coaster con parks that are are twice it's size.

- A long Q&A session
- Special Coaster Con Member's Only show for whatever is in Rockville Theater.
- Photo Walkback Tours.
- ERT in morning and night for more than 1 day.
- Something that may have to do with the 2013 attraction?

I think at most you could have 3 days. That would be one dry park, one water with a few dry rides, and the third would be the Q&A, shows, etc.
