The premise of the brass ring was to get people to use those outer horses that didn't jump. I'm surprised they operated the rings with jumpers. From what I hear the Flying Horses in MA operates with Brass Rings

It was a bitch to catch any ring and certainly not the brass ring! LOL It was very disorienting to try to line up your hand with the device as going up and down. It wasn't run slowly either, it was moving at least as fast as Knoebels.

^It is nice of you to do that!

At Holiday World this summer we had four free tickets we won at Nor'Easter and our friends from the area couldn't go. As we entered we saw a young family and asked them if they had tickets. They did not and we gave them the two extras saving them almost $100. You would think we gave them gold! We chatted a bit and it turns out the guy had been laid off this summer but he promised his kids they would go so he was sucking it up and spending what he couldn't really afford. Sometimes things just turn out right. We felt good about helping them and they were so happy. He told the kids that now they had money for ice cream too. Hope we got a bit of karma for that. LOL

    Karma for you too!

Talk about paying it forward. That was great that you did that. The expressions on their faces alone should have made anyone's day.

To a smaller degree I had a chance to do something similar at Canobie a few years pack. By chance, my friend I was visiting the park with and I stopped at a Burger King a few miles from the park and they gave us several $5.00 off BK coupons to use for admission at the park and we gave away the extras to some people in line behind us. Again, the smiles they returned were priceless.

^You are right. When he told the kids they could have ice cream and the young kids got all excited my daughter wanted to cry. You never know who you are picking to give things to. It isn't like they looked destitute or anything. We just didn't want to waste the two extras. Like I said, after chatting with him, we knew we picked the right guy, because they really could use a bit of good luck. You never know how good you have it until you see what other folks are dealing with. Here we are running all over going to park after park and this guy is scraping to take his kids once. It was a nice feeling to help and it didn't cost us anything as we got them for free. @slakerx is giving away something he paid for - so props to him!!

Good impressions create great lasting memories. You spoke of Karma earlier. I'll bet these families will share goodwill to others someday. A little kindness is a great investment.

Stopped by the park for their “5 dollar deal”, which was an unlimited wristband for 5 dollars because of opening day. The crowds were insane, but I managed to get on cyclone, thunderbolt, and a couple of flats. Both coasters were running well.
