Darien Lake Discussion Thread

Rumor has it that Darien Lake will receive a new coaster with a wooden corkscrew, zero g roll and a special camel hump effect from RMC. It looks like a spin-off of Outlaw Run.

Interesting, may i ask where you heard this?

^I've heard it on a couple of forums. Apparently the drop is a 'wingover' drop. Sounds like the drop that's on Gatekeeper.

I heard it from screamscape and other forums.

EDIT: It is rumored to replace the aging Predator.

This seems a bit of a jump, Why would Hershened invest so much in DL with a RMC coaster before focusing on one of their owned parks. They also have room to expand so why replace a 23 year old coaster. I wouldn't call that aging.

It's as rough as hell and hurts everyone's spine. There's not one drop when you don't scream "Oww". Dinn created the ride and it was poorly maintained in the SF years... It needs love and attention. They may keep the lift hill and station but other than that, it'll be a HUGE remodel. It's rumored to be called "Lake Monster".

I have been searching a bit and a few sites are talking about it but the park has made no real announcement and the image provided is a bit fishy. shows 3 coasters by 2 different companies.

The image was taken from a survey, and therefore right now is only a rumor, so for now I'd take that story with a grain of salt, although if this rumored coaster does get built it does look like it'll give Outlaw Run a run for its money.

I agree about given outlaw Run a run for it's money though you would think Heshend woudl want to wait more then one season to outdo their own coaster.

Darn I wish they would add something big so It may pressure TGE to do something big

I think I'll have to hear the elements first before I get any sort of excited because right now I'm really not.
