Darien Lake Discussion Thread

This excites me, I don't know about you guys, but I'm not going to be near the other iron horse coasters. This could be worth the couple day trip.

I know it isn't in New England but it used to be a SF park and it is close enough,

It's been confirmed that ROS will be receiving new trains. Surprisingly, they will have the Bizarro restraints. This is from a poster on TPR who is higher up personnel at DL.

I think its funny how they will be getting one train next year and maybe one the next year. Pretty much sums up the park lol.

So that means they pretty much intend on running one new one old or only one new. What an odd park.

They usually only run one. Idk if the state would let them run 2 different types.

Why wouldn't they. It's the same manufacturer. This come down to one thing the park doesn't get the attendance to merit 2 train operation most of the time. Also the bizarro Train are nearly identical to the Superman trains. as far as I can recall it's the same base system.

what's more disturbing is this is one of the first moves made by the new management which is controlled by the old premier/Six flags management.

Oh no... this doesn't sound good...

The sale also included a ton of ski resorts including Sunday River, Okemo, Mount Sunapee, Loon and Sugarloaf in New England. They stated that operations for all their properties would go back to normal and nothing would really be affected.

I doubt they'd close Darien.

CNL has been off loading parks and resorts. this is older news and expect over the next coupe years more to be sold off.

So this is what they are offering

• Zombies roaming around every corner;
• New scare zones and haunted mazes;
• Two new haunted houses (additional fee required); and
• A new laser light show, Spooktacular, performed on Friday and Saturday nights at 10:30 p.m.

The laser show sounds cool but 2 haunted houses is a bit pathetic. and They're trying not claim its NY scariest. Headless horsman and Bayville Screampark are some of the bet rated in the world. they are also clamming this with Bayville and TGE all offering more haunts.

For a park that hasn’t done a haunted event in years, 2 houses isn’t pathetic. It’s a start, and it takes time to plan out what they’re doing,

Best, Most Exciting, Spookiest, etc are all just Ad terms that anyone can use since they cannot be measured. It is good marketing and advertising. Props to them for bringing it back.
