I just got the mobile ordering survey today - seems weird that the survey is coming now when the feature has already been added to the app & coming soon.

The only thing I find an issue is - you pick the restaurant and the time you want to go, and then you can either build your order when you make your reservation, or build your order when you get there during your time slot. Seems redundant and a waste of time. If you are going to mobile order, you shouldn’t have to pick a timeslot, but because six flags is ridiculous, I can understand why this might be a good idea. But if you are doing a mobile order, then you would build your order at the time you pick your restaurant, not once you’ve already arrived. That’s like calling a pizza place & saying I’m coming in at 7pm on a Friday night and placing an order and I expect it to be ahead of all the other deliveries and people waiting who already gave you the order.

For this to work, they are going to need a lot more than 15 minutes to prepare all of these mobile orders. So you order and pay ahead from your phone and then you pick it up at the time it tells you to be there.

My brother got that and said the same thing. I guess it also asked about what should happen if you order and miss the time slot and can't gt another time slot till hours later.

I didn’t see that but my thinking is if you miss your time slot then you forfeit your food? The survey also asked about naming the mobile ordering service. It has you select a bunch of different names that you think are the best and the worst and from a selection of names which one would make you think mobile ordering. So I typed at the end that it should just be called Mobile ordering. It doesn’t need a fancy or gimmick name. Just call it what it is and people will know exactly what it is.

Some of those names were just atrocious, including the one that they had as the temporary name, I also just put I wanted Mobile Dining in the end.

I think the one they really kept trying to push was quick click and eat! I don’t understand why they need to name it anything. Just the option on the app for mobile ordering is fine. I personally don’t really like the new app with all the tiles I think it looked better before but whatevs

    I jsut took it Myself.

I think this was the line my brother was referring to
Your ordering window is between 3:00 pm and 3:15 pm. You got stuck in a ride line and didn’t make it to the restaurant until 4:15 pm. What do you think will happen to your food order?
let you get your food/make you choose a new time slot.

    Then this
Let’s say you have to choose a new time slot, but the first one available is at 6:00 pm and you don’t want to wait. What do you think happens?
You get a refund/you have to request a refund/you get charged because you missed your slot.

When it suggested other names I suggested Meal Queue

The park is going to have to come up with specific rules on how it will deal with the many scenarios that will happen, because well it’s six flags. Mobile ordering should actually be named “beautiful disaster”

Just like everything else six flags rolls out - it will be rushed, unfinished, confusing, and break down often.

So what happens when someone places an order for 3:30 (when lunch ends) and they don’t get to the restaurant until 3:45 because they were on Superman and the sensor faulted & they were stuck on the brake run. Does that person now lose out on their lunch credit of their dining plan? Even though their order was placed before lunch ended?

What happens when a person submits an order to a restaurant and when they arrive, their phone is now dead and they can’t click the “I’m here” button?

How is the park going to handle the fact that the pick up line for mobile ordering will now be longer than the regular line to place an order?

How is it going to work at JB’s where they bring your food to you? Do you still just claim are table # and sit wherever you can find and then an anxious 16 year old walks around desperately looking for your number?

There’s so many variables that I can see happening just on opening day alone... can’t wait until all the compaints of “I did mobile ordering but I lost my phone on wicked cyclone so I can’t claim my meal” or “my phone was stolen so I can’t get my mobile meal” and what happens to these people who did mobile ordering for their lunch or dinner, lost their phone and now try to order another meal the regular way with their season pass card? Will it say they already used their lunch/dinner because they did mobile ordering?

If you don’t pick up your meal are you going to be penalized and banned from mobile ordering for 30 days like when you don’t cancel a parking reservation?

In the trial on line it had no place to connect the meal plan. in the payment area it asks for a credit card. Personally I think this should only be fore dinning pass at locations where the meals are included.

As for most of your scenarios
if your phone is almost dead why in the world would you waist your battery using mobile ordering.
Yes you'd be out of luck if you list your phone but then lunch would be the least of your problems.

The time slot thing is a good argument. It seems to be a button issue with everyone here so far. They need to not have windows. If I were to ever use this I would be ordering when I was ready to eat and planing to go to a place to do so. I want to put in my food and walk to the location and have it ready when I get here. if i have to play games and et around there scheduel its not worth it to me

as for the lines being longer that's possible. It might be the reason for the time slots X amount of orders per location per time slot.

I could be wrong, but I thought during the trial it said that they won't actually start making your order until you get to the restaurant and pay. Apparently the point is to skip the line, but you're still waiting the full length for your food, so for me it doesn't make a lot of sense.

^you’re right. The problem is gonna be when everyone does mobile ordering and shows up at the same time. They won’t be able to keep up with the amount of orders at one specific time frame. And there’s no way a 30 minute window will solve that. They will be backed up way past 30 minutes. I appreciate the idea in trying it out, but I really don’t see how this can work. Especially in a park with dining plans. If they didn’t have dining plans and this was 5 years ago, less people would get food in the park & way less people would do mobile ordering. I am curious to know the numbers but I would guess somewhere around 75% of higher of season pass/members have dining plan.

I just redid my membership last night to include dining (last year I had already bought my season dining so I used it for 2018 with my membership.) As a diamond elite member I can get a lunch snack and dinner at every park for under $5 a month. My one coffee in the morning costs almost the same price. For me, it’s almost ridiculous not to have a dining plan.
