It was quite the adventure tonight :’D
We thought it would be fun to go to the park since they didn’t close, so we got there at 5. We were one of three cars in the parking lot at opening (when we left, it looked like about 10-15 cars showed up for the whole day). Felt like we had the park to ourselves, which was cool, even though there wasn’t much to do. We did ride Houdini and there were so many issues. The doors into the ride wouldn’t open, when our lap bars came down, the lights went out and the four of us were stuck in total darkness for a few minutes before they came back on and the ride started, and the ride didn’t end level so that took a few minutes too. Then the park closed 2 hours early at 8. So that was definitely a fun experience :D

So for people who go regularly, are people showing up for HITP? Or have most nights been pretty dead this year?

A couple. Flashback and Joker were the two that I actually saw running. I think that was it though. There were literally a max of 30 people there so I may have not noticed any others because no one was riding any. Haha

Today was actually a great day! All coasters running along with all other rides! A good amount of people for sure, the show Frost by the way was so awesome as well, such talent! Wow! Other than that weather wasn’t to bad it got a bit chilly by closing.

I've been to almost every Holiday in the Park night this season and I have to say last night was by far the busiest. Every ride has pretty much been a walk on except for last night.

For those wondering what rides are open during the event:
Batman, Joker, Crime Wave, Harley Quinn, The Riddler Revenge, Tea Cups, Kontiki, Fireball, Thunderbolt, Houdini, Tomahawk, the smaller ride next to Tomahawk, Flashback, Balloon Race, and Scrambler.

I find it absolutely insane the park is charging full admission price for this event with several of their major attractions closed.

Well for fright fest they charge full admission and charge extra for the haunts despite having the entire water park shut down.

That's ridiculous. Just another reason I will never respect Six Flags the way I do Canobie or Lake Compounce. At least those parks charge less for the non summer season. Don't get me wrong I think Six Flags is fun it's just way to corporate.

It is and It's been a sore spot for me but I can't really say Canobie is a lot better they added the water park and prices just like 3 dollars for 2019. They will be $42 Which is on par with what LC charges. Less then SFNE but you get an online deal and day tickets are I think $45. and for just a bit more of

You have to understand that I'd say upwards of 75% of guests have some kind of season pass or membership. Their business model has very little to do with individual one day tickets. A thrill pass is roughly within $5 dollars of a single day admission.

As @tge98 mentioned, the majority of people visiting HitP are visiting with a season pass or membership. Anyone paying full price for admission (which is probably an EXTREMELY low percentage of guests visiting) wouldn't care about the price. If someone wants to go, they're going to go no matter what.

Plus, main attractions are not the reason to visit HitP, it's just an added benefit. People go to HitP for the lights and the atmosphere.

I figured most people have the pass. That certainly would make the most sense economically. I bought mine in November and have gone 8 times so I've definitely got my moneys worth. I still think $70.99 general admission is extremely pricey though.

I did get to get my friend in for free on Sunday which was nice. My other friend ironically bought a season pass at the park.

So how does the park make most of its money? Concessions?

I know I'm in the minority but I go for the rides not the lights or shows or S'mores. Though I do love the smell of the fire pits and the lights at the entrance are cool.

Only an idiot would pay $70.99. Discounts are easy to find and are as low as $42.00

And during events like FF they have to hire a lot of extra staff. Not sure how the numbers pan out but I’m guessing that it’s equal if not more than staffing the water park so they aren’t going to charge less.
