Morey's new addition KONG opens tonight! Here's some pics from Preview Night last night along with some other pics.

    From the Wildwod365 Facebook page:
Gift Shop is underneath the ride

Here's a closer look at the flyer cars:
Pics are from Morey's Instagram and the Wildwood365 page. It's worth noting too the cars were custom designed to be bigger for better comfort.

Along with the white LED's on the arms of the Flyers, there are color changing LED's on the bottom of the tubs and they look AWESOME! Check out the video of it by following this link to the Morey's Facebook page.

Props to Morey's for making such a simple addition so awesome and taking it to the next level! The ride also has sound effects and the Gorilla has smoke that comes out of it's mouth. Pretty cool!

The new addition looks awesome!!! Moreys piers will always hold a special place in my heart as it was and is my favorite vacation spot! Can't wait to see what the future holds for that little coaster they have up their sleeves... would be awesome if the rumor was true that they have since scrapped the GCI plans and decided to use RMC, even though a GCI would be awesome too!

Morey's won the Golden Ticket for Best Seaside Park! Congrats to the Morey family!!! :D

Remember the giant, awesome, 2 pier spanning coaster that has been in "development" for years upon years?
Well feast your eyes on this Morey's fans!

Looks like the removal of the Skycoaster may finally make sense: The Skycoasters location is where (in the original design) the coasters drop was supposed to go :D

Here's some big new out of Morey's!

-Morey's will replace 90% of the track on Fly! The Great Nor'Easter (Custom SLC, slightly taller, different brake run, new style of trains) for 2017 with a brand new "bendable technology" track from Vekoma that's currently being manufactured which Morey's says will provide a smooth ride. The ride will also get a new name and new colors.
-The Great White (CCI Woodie) is getting much of its course retracked this year.
-Huge expansion of one of Morey's hotels.

Among other projects including removing rides, bringing rides back, possible water park expansion, check out the links below! And maybe a little hint toward the new coaster that's been in planning for (too many) years :D

I had a nice visit this year. I stayed about 6-11:30pm and got in a lot of awesome rides. A quick recap...

The new wood on Great White made the ride A LOT smoother but those damn PTC's suck so bad. Got some nice airtime on the bunny hills and overally a really nice ride and light years better than years past!

Grear Nor'Easter's train shook like hell but the vest was comfortable. It was comparable to other years. I look forward to trying the ride with the all new track next year- I hope that big investment on an SLC is worth it...

Other than that, on Mariner's Landing we hit Sea Serpent, Rollies Coaster, the Ferris Wheel, Pirates of the Wildwoods, Moby Dick, Riptide, Flying Galleon, and the Bumper Cars.

On Surfside, we hit Great Nor'Easter, AtmosFEAR, IT, and Zoom Phloom. IT was awesome as always and had an insanely long cycle, and Zoom Phloom got us the most wet of any time we've ridden it which was awesome.

Other than Great White on Adventure, we hit the Screamin' Swing for $5 with our wristband which is still the only ride that genuinely scares the crap out of me- especially since it's probably about 30 or 40 feet raised off the beach/pier.

So all in all, a great night riding rides- we got in 14 rides and we skipped a few things we usually do but there's always next year's trip.

I can upload pics later and a video of the new lighting package on SpringShot which is awesome!

Definitely. They are getting started on this project really quickly. The ride closed on Monday and less than an hour after the ride closed, they were already taking it apart.

After seeing those pics of the new vekoma ride in Europe and the BSG ride, I really think we could be looking at the next b&m or Mack. If they can replicate that type of ride/track, we might end up seeing some amazing clones. It's like the difference between the boomerang and the sky rocket II.

Here's a Screamscape update of what's going on at Morey's. From what I've heard from a group I belong to, they're going to paint the supports, then remove/replace the track.

No idea where the extra supports are going but I would assume it's for extra bracing in different spots because the track is going to have more give to it.

Should be interesting to see how this project turns out, and ultimately rides....

I will embed pics later but I'm on my phone right now so the link will suffice.

Here's some pictures of The Great Nor'Easter's transformation. The supports are painted in 4 different shades of blue that make a gradient from one end to the other which looks awesome. The new track is painted white, just like the old track. Morey's said the "secret" to the new "smoother" track is a new method of how Vekoma's bends the track make it a smoother bend. Morey's says the project will be completed by December- a lot of the track has already been taken down and the new track installed. We shall see I guess! This will either be totally great or a total flop.

On a side note, sounds like Morey's will use the old track for some sort of sculpture.

These are not my pics. They were posted to the Morey's Piers Connoiseurs page by a Morey's employee. Head over HERE for some more pictures.

You can see how deteriorated the old track was getting:
