That is the clunkiest park model a have ever seen. I mean they need separate compressor line to overate the ride.

Anyways if your going to fault a park for having too many carnival rides we should look to Canobie.

I think Knoebels probably takes the cake for most portable rides in a permanent park but Canobie & Knoebels are so unique and great in their own ways that I will never knock them.

Yes TGE has lost some nice stuff over the years but it also has kept some of its past charm and yet also matured in other ways from the days of old. Charley Wood's legacy can never be replicated or replaced however you do have to admit that back in the 70's & 80's TGE had lots of less than permanent attractions and had quite the "carnival" feel to it, except for Ghost Town. I just hope that TGE doesn't sacrifice too much more of its past for future additions. Still can't understand why we had to give up an awesome Huss Pirate for a lousey Midi Discovery that went through Hurricane Sandy. Especially since Huss still makes the Pirate.

The GE Pirate was the best! I really miss it. To your point, Knoebels does have a ton of portable attractions but so many of them were rescued from oblivion and they lend such nostalgia it just fits.

Oh yeah. The park was filled with carnival-esque rides for a long time. Even well into the 2000’s with Trabant, and those carnival rides where Cannonball Express is now.

It still drive me nuts to look at the empty pad where the Pirate Ship was. That thing was easily the best pirate ship I had ever been on. I like the Midi Discovery but the Pirate was 10x better in my opinion.

^Whatever happened to it. Did they just remove it and it’s sitting at the park unused?

Seems like a real waste. Remove it and don’t even install it at another park.

The thing that bugs me about pirate is that they said supernova was replacing it, but they are in two completely separate locations. I thought they would've complimented each other nice. I'm hoping it returns, or something similar soon.

Ditto. At least let another park enjoy it. The rides not a park mount and GE had already relocated it once before it got removed so it’s not like it’s not moveable.

As of the last google maps update, all the parts were still back there all laid out. Pretty clear to see the boat tarped, the supports, the main hub, etc.

Drove by the park last week and could see the Pandemonium area through the trees. Didn't take pics because it was getting dark and there was basically nothing to see. Just a big hole dug at this point. The front of the park had nothing put together yet; no Sky Ride cars on, nothing at Boomerang, nothing at Flying Trapeze, etc.

I like the midi discovery but its not a pirate ship and there was no reason to remove it. I'm sure if Pirate was still there they would have plenty of people riding it.

^ You are right! There was almost always a line for the pirate ship. As I have said before it was our 2nd favorite ride in the park after only Comet.

On top of that fact there was a line they are doing nothing with the land it was not removed for any reason other then to assumablely level off operation costs.

Just some fun info; Queensbury put up their list of building permits granted in April, and GE was on there for Pandemonium and the cost of the project listed was $500k.
