Like the title, this thread will be for needs and wants. Let's try and keep our ideas realistic too.

I think a euro fighter would fit nice here.

I think everyone here can agree that the park needs a new coaster. Personally I think more than anything else the park needs a signature coaster that is unique to the park and to the region. I think a Euro Fighter would be the best choice

I have been rooting for a Euro Fighter replacement of Bobsled for some time now. I'm confident they could put in a custom very impressive coaster and still eave a bit of space for more attractions in that area.

But the bobsled IS "unique to the park and the region" -- they are quite rare.
It is just always either closed or the line is too long when I try to ride it.

How about a Euro Fighter where the Nightmare at Crackaxle Canyon building is?
It could fly over and around the log flume easily. Maybe call it the Gun-fighter?

Better yet -- LEAVE the building in place and have the coaster go through the building with some dark ride theming (like Busch Garden's Williamsburg Verbolten)

Or you could theme/name that Euro Fighter coaster idea as Batman.

But Great Escape doesn't do superhero theming at all and also never seems to get much that is new.

So the likely scenario is that a Batman clone coaster would be moved out of another Six Flags park and installed at Great Escape with a non-superhero theme.

yeah not to mention that a batman ride would look terrible in Ghost Town. I think ghost town is a very well themed area, I doubt you will see Six Flags reck that when they don't have to. See A batman coaster in Bobsleds spot wouldn't bother me because while the fest area has some themeing it is kind of weak.

It is unique but not all that marketable. Don't get me wrong I love the ride. They are rare because there were not a lot of them built and since then many parks have taken ten out for better options.

It's often closed because of restrictions do to noise. the operations of the ride is also highly susceptible to weather leading to a lot of down time. When the ride is down you might as well see that space as empty since it adds nothing to the park. Long lines are caused by a pore capacity. there are only a few cars and they load slowly.

As for nightmare the building serves double duty as a storage shed and Haunt location. I don't see it taken out anytime soon. Ghost town in general is a very compact area which already houses 2 coasters. yes it help one before but it was a lower end light draw attraction that more complemented the area instead of actually drawing people to it and keeping them there.
While the theme dost work When SFNE announced plans for the coaster I felt immediately that the coaster would be a better fit at TGE. of course that would be giving it a popper them though at that time the batman was not out of the question because the park was starting to introduce branded properties.

I know they bobsleds are rare for a reason.
I remember riding the one at Six Flags over Texas on opening weekend and I think even then it was closed for long periods due to wind.
And Cedar Point had to put theirs inside to make it work longer -- I never got to ride that one before it went away.

I feel like the operations procedures is what really causes the long lines. They have two sets of air gates so two cars could be loading in the station one car on the lift and another on the course. Yet every one of my visits they had a set of air gates roped off. Also on my visits I noticed that they waited for the car to hit the brake run before they even dispatched out of the station!

I know you were talking about bobsled so was I. Maybe given the former ride name Nightmare was not an appropriate word choice for describing the operations.

Anyways for me this is a need and a want.

A couple real thrill rides. Sasquatch and supper nova are nice touches but both have their limitations when it comes to thrill rides.
