The store in the corner of main street was originally a Pretzel Dark ride. Not sure the when it was removed however. But it's been a store as long as I can remember.

I know the building, I'm just interested in what it looked like with the dark ride inside of it.

Are you guys talking about that gift shop at the very end of Main Street? You would pass it if you were going to HH, right?

I've never seen a picture of the inside. Pretzel dark rides worked off of a simple premise, Darkness creates it's own walls. They were small buildings that were open throughout. they contained shadow boxes and simple displays normally Paper Mache. The cars were singular and help 2 riders each. THE closest operating Pretzel dark ride I know of is Spook-o-rama at Deno's Wonder wheel park.

redsd2121 - yes that is the gift shop I am referring to.

Yeah I wanted a picture of the outside of the building, while the ride was there. And now I'm confused at what building your talking about.

Sounds like their talking about the Candy Cabin? But no way that could be the building? That is way to small. I'm picturing the candy store by Scream.

If you enter the park and walk down main street. as you get to the gazebo and take a right towards south end/water park there is a store right there on the right. If I recall right it's between the ice cream stand and the games booth with the Marquee sign. But it's part of the main street structure.

I'll try to mark it off in a sky-shot if I need to.

That sounds cool. I found some pictures of the inside also.

Just read this whole article. It has to do with all of what mrcreagle was talking about. Damn, this stuff looks so cool. I wish the park kept it. :(

This website has some Rocky Point (Rhode Island) stuff in it also! <a class="postlink" href="http://ctacke.tripod.com/index2.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://ctacke.tripod.com/index2.html</a>

I was only a little kid when I went in that thing. I used to with my uncle. To me as a kid...it was a little bit scary- though I know now that it would be corny. I wanted to go to Canobie because that mine ride sounded like this old Riverside attraction- but better. True its not anything thrilling, but its kind of nastalgic.

This was the kind of attraction in which the general concept was taken by Disney imagineers and grown to epic proportions to create their dark rides such as Haunted Mansion, Pirates etc...
