Road Work is coming on 159

On my way to the park yesterday, I noticed they had started to put up work end signs on the side streets. They are going to re pave 159 this sumer!

The first thing I thought of was how they are going to handle the traffic. They will have some issues with working at night because of the neighbors.

Anyway, it's all for the best. There is an area of Rt 159 right opposite the park that the road is horrendous. Also if you keep going up route 159 north towards the big E, it is absolutely disgusting.

In a way it is sad how many years Agawam has sat on doing anything ,especially with the money in tax revenue they take in just from SFNE alone.

Summer is really the only good time to pave. Spring is the time for the construction companies to prepare the rock and supplies.

I do agree agawam is in need of some major road work. Especially on the bridges and that rotary.

Too bad they can't do it a night (residential)

They would have to go through some agreements with the town and permits. Neighbors would be too much of a distraction from all the complaining. It's just a bad spot to pave unfortunately.
