They still offer both options. you still have to park regardless of the option you choose.

I get it something like Quassy which has a lower parking price and free admission would be an easy add on to LC. where as Rye you would want to get your moneys worth ad a quick stop you can't do that. I agree the POP set up will always be a cheaper options but with no new attraction and their carousel down $30 is a lot for 3 dark rides and 3 coasters. Sure you could hit a few other attraction but outside of Derby racer, the 2 water rides, and Sky skater what do that have that you can't find at your average carnival.

The fun card option is barely advertised anymore. If you do want to go to the park for cheaper, midweek during the summer they have twilight passes for $15.

Informative. though only useful if the park was an add on to another stop. an after 3 price isn't much of a deal if you have to travel around 3.5 hours Maybe I can double up a trip with Luna park

^That would be very do-able as neither place is an all day stop. If you did Luna Park, Wonder Wheel, and Rye Playland that could fill a day.

ACE day is the way to go at this park. I just noticed how awesome the kiddie area is when i went in August to the event. I personally love this park but my visits are far and few in between.

^Our last visit there was an ACE event. We added the kiddie coaster that adults are not allowed to ride on normal days. We rode the Dragon some and got Derby Racer. It was a fun event at a fair price.

It is it's more the overall cost of the single day. but I'll bite the bullet one of theses days and do it. I also looked at the idea of adding in adventure land if you really wanted to go all out.

I would like to hit and ACE event and get the kiddie coaster credit.

This is Standard’s plan for the park. Looks good imo. Keeping all the classic rides!! I’m loving that new woodie replacing the volare. Only downside is the removal of the double shot...

The double shot is leased and not owned so it make sense to remove it.

I agree but if one bigger attraction should be removed the haunted house/Flying witch would be the one.

Though I think they should don't the mouse and relocate the Valor. The Mouse practically gave me whiplash and wrenched my back. never been on a mouse that bad.

that mouse is horrible, I skip that thing now hahaha They should have atleast one big haunted house, though I enjoyed both! They were neat and I had a blast riding them! It will be interesting to actually see what happens because I do not have high hopes that anything will get done at this point, its bene going back and forth for a few years now and really no movement!

Well the old Mill isn't going anywhere. So they will have that. but I really don't see Zombie Castle being anything but a dark ride. What I could see is a rehab to remove the haunted house zombie and convert the ride into a new theme. so same basic ride but its new because it is rehabbed.

I agree though that its hard to hope for Rye with all the infighting.

Wow, these look like great improvements, especially the free access to the beach but this should be a 5yr plan not 10! Nine new kiddie rides is impressive for a park that already has a great kiddie area.

The plans, as outlined in the map and discussions, call for:

    • Building a new version of the Airplane coaster, also called the Aeroplane. It isn’t clear what the new version, to be built within 10 years, will cost or if it would be wooden like the original ride, which was taken down in 1957 and is still remembered fondly by coaster enthusiasts.
    • Eliminating a charge for beach access. The plan would add seasonal water activities and an outdoor fitness center.
    • Building five new signature rides within the first three years, as well as nine new Kiddyland rides.
    • Upgrading and modernizing the old Zombie Castle ride within five years.
    • Adding at least six new restaurants on the boardwalk, fountain plaza and within the amusement park. The miniature golf at the plaza would be removed, with a new course built at the south end of the boardwalk near Rye Town Park.
    • Planting approximately 500 new trees around the park.
    • Restoring the colonnades around the park.
