Mostly all good idea. I also don't get the 9 new kiddie rides. they have that great central kiddie land with the coaster around it and then they have kiddie rides overflowing further down that midway. They need more family rides not kiddie rides. but then these might be upgrades to some under performeing kiddie rides or older kiddie rides deemed less safe.

I get the idea of opening up the beach for free but where do they plan to make up that revenue. Higher parking prices, ticket prices at the park, I know they had plans to fill in the pool for a splash pad so Maybe they plan to charge more for that ten the pool.

A new version of the Airplane coaster would run 8-10 million. If they do what I mentioned above and only upgrade the theme of zombie castle they could do that form 500K to 1,5 million depending on scale. it could go higher then that but why.

I was watching The Blacklist last night on NBC. One scene was filmed in the parking lot of Playland. There was a a view of the Dragon and Super Flight. The premise was that a rich guy loved the park as a kid and bought the park. We could only hope. LOL

Its such an underrated park but it is expensive for families. I don't think i will make it to the ace event this year.

Why do you think it's Expensive for families. A day pas is $30 for non residents and a season pass is 85 for none residents. if you live locally you can get in for $25 and a season pass for $72. That's cheaper then just about every Park we have to offer here in New England with a bigger ride count. a 10 parking fee can add to the days cost but that's in the middle of the ones we see here. Realistically the prices are very fair. If you want to look at it competing with SFI the prices are better the LC which competes with SFI.

Stinks you can't make the event. i heard its one of the better events.

^The new pricing is much better. For a few years there it was free admission and pay as you go for rides which can get crazy expensive. You could blow past the current ride all day price in just a few hours.

I wen't for the first time about 10 years ago and it offered either Pay as you go or pay one price. there were no games to enter the park or get onto the boardwalk.

When we first went, I think the POP was only for weekdays and weekends were tickets that got pricey fast for "lets ride again" people like us. LOL

I can imagine how it can add up to pay as you go. Their are a number of rides worth hitting if you make a stop and they are all higher ticket rides.

My first an only trip was more then 10 years ago and they offered a Pay one price. but If I recall it was only good till a specific time and expired before the end of the day.
