Sfne Off Season Aerial Update!

DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT FLY OVER THE PROPERTY OF SIX FLAGS NEW ENGLAND.

So today I met up with @BizarroAj outside of SFNE to fly my drone near the park and got some awesome aerial shots of the park. I did two flights, one from the backroad and one from a store lot. Also, I am using a new photo hosting site, Flickr, and I am uploading the photos at their original size, so it may take some time to load, and just like last year I zoomed in on some of the photos to point out certain things. Anyways, onto the photos!


The Joker Site.




So first of course lets look at the Joker site! Looking at the Joker site, you can see that they have the footers in which is awesome, hopefully soon vertical construction will start. They also have a small building built on the site, presumably having to do with the ride. Looking over to the right of the Joker site, it appears that they are building something there as well. Not sure what it is. Slingshot is still missing one of its towers, not sure what they are doing with it now.


Looking at this picture it is pretty much the same thing that SFNE posted.


Onto the back employee parking lot.


EDIT: Looking at the parking lot area you can see what appears to be a bunch of flower pots and cranes, and as someone has pointed out, light poles. There is something in the back next to the security building as well, but I am assuming they are not supports.



Here is another section of the lot. Here you can see the old water wheel, the cranes again, and in the back I think I see more Joker parts wrapped in pink plastic.


Ok, moving onto Supermans station.



I tried my best to get the drone close to the station while keeping away from the trees and Six Flag's property. All you can really see is that the VR containers are still there but they're of course empty, and if you look really closely, you can see that the blue fencing is still there, along with the water fountain and all that stuff. Hopefully they get rid of the fencing and return the previous layout of the station soon.

Moving onto Mind Eraser.


It seems nothing has changed from what I can see.


There is some big storage things outside of the station. Not sure if that was there earlier in the year or not.


And they have yet to clean up Bizarro....

Ok now onto some other things. I had to make another post since I reached the 20 photos limit.


This is a shot of the maintenance building.


You can see one of superman's trains taken apart and covered, and if you look next to the front of the white truck that's next to the train pieces, you can spot the "Audio Boxes" or "VR boxes" or empty boxes that should not exist. Haha just not sure what to call them at this point. Maybe the two seats will return this year? Probably not....


For those who care like myself, Panda Express is still there at the moment so they have yet to change it to Chop Six. I'd rather have Chop Six since then it will be on the dining pass.


While I don't see it happening at our park, it doesn't seem like there is any activity going on at Scream, since there is a rumor about VR being implemented on the ride.

Doesn't look like there is anything new at Wicked Cyclone although I see a crane near the steps that lead to NESS and WiCy, and I see they are storing the Blizzard River rafts on Wicked Cyclones property.


That's about it! It looks like they are making nice progress on The Joker, but they have yet to clear out Superman's station, which hopefully they will do. They probably will do it more towards March, and for Mind Eraser, they may start doing that during the season to open for June like Superman. Anyways, thanks for looking! If you have any suggestions for next time then please let me know.

In the future, can you you embed smaller sizes of the pictures, then link to the Flickr for people to check out the higher resolutions? It's taking way too longer to load on here. Great pics though!

Our Slingshot is a portable model, so I don't think it needs a foundation. I could be completely wrong though, as that spot does look like it would fit Slingshot perfectly.

Awesome pics thanks for getting them. I think they are moving slingshot to that spot across from the teacups.
