I have to agree Comet is one of the few woodies in the SFI chain that is safe.

Bobsled I could understand or one of the older flats

I would think Wild One at SFA is safe from changes too.

Most of the big trees are marked like this. Is this new?

Yeah that's new. well I can't say that because I haven't ridden in 2 years. I actually made last minute plans to go up tomorrow so cross your fingers Bobsled is open so I can grab some better quality pictures.

Yeah I can confirm markers everywhere under bobsled. In Addition to all the big trees having numbers and green markers a few smaller trees have blue and white stripped markers on then. And it's not like sfne I was looking around and absolutely no trees outside of the bobsled area have numbers or markers

It does appear to only be on trees at this point.
@MetsFan they fixed the peeling paint over the midway but the rest of the ride is worse than ever

Hm, well this tree thing is interesting. If it's contained just to the Bobsled area then they're probably marked for removal. NYS doesn't take inventory of trees. I don't want to jump the gun but the trees are obviously coming down for something or the park just enjoys taking the time to mark all the trees in a confined area for fun!

Are there any bugs or issues hitting trees. just ruling out any other possibilities.

    but things are looking promising.

I could see the trees being removed because some of the trees are pretty close to the trough. But the trees with the blue and white markers aren't that tall and don't interact with the ride at all

Eh tree removal is insanely expensive so I really can't see them taking down so many trees if they didn't have plans for the area. The trees obviously haven't been too much of an issue for the coaster or they would've been removed by now. Those are some big trees and they've been hanging over the ride for forever.

If its a bug or termite issue then I can see them doing it but you've got to put all the pieces together. The ride sucks, it's never open, it had a cross in the graveyard last year, the ride is totally peeling and rusted, doesn't run at capacity, doesn't run 4 trains, trees are marked... I'm not saying something is replacing the ride right away. It could be gone this year without a replacement for all I know. I just think there's a real good chance the ride is on its way out. If they were going to keep the ride, Why else would it have a graveyard cross that said "1998-?" and why did it disappear so quickly once social media people got wind of it? Why wouldn't they have fixed the paint by now, especially on the inside of the trough? Or why would they glue paint back on the ride instead of just peeling it off and re-doing it? Why would they be letting the entrance literally crumble by the day instead of fixing it? Why would they not have painted the queue by now when it's been peeling for literally 5+ years?

I Agree it's likely a bigger plan. Just simply putting out other issues. if we can rule those out then that adds more to the likelihood that it is the removal of bobsled.

I've been thinking about 2017 alot. What does everyone think is coming to the park. This is the first year since like 2012 that I didn't have a gut feeling that we are getting a coaster. (Which Probably means this will be the year). I just feel that with the way they marketed Greesed lightning last year it seems like they wouldn't have made that big of a deal about it if something bigger would just come to the park this year. To me it seemed like Greesed lightning was the "Big" ride.

But with the every single year thing, I really don't know what they could add. Over the last what 4 years they've added 3 flat rides. So it seems like they wouldn't really be going back to the dry park unless it was a coaster. But then again they did a water park update just a year ago. So I'm really baffled. I would say maybe Justice Leauge but Great Adventure is getting one and Great Escape doesn't have DC characters.

Another thought is that they could "officially" brand the park for next year and bring back Justice League characters or a new coaster.

    What does everyone think?

I was thinking/wondering if the old nightmare building would be big enough for a justice league dark ride? I know it wouldn't fit the theme of the rest of the area, but it seems they are adding them to all the parks like they did with the super loops.

I was saying water park for this year and and it didn't happen so I woudl lean to water park next year. forget about rehabs think real slide an increase o of capacity.

Justice league has nothign to do with the brand so having one or not having one doesn't make it a half SF park or a sudo SF park. If nothing we should fall n to the fast that all the premier SF parks are half Six flags parks because they contain little to no actual themeing.
The building could hold a dark ride yes but to a justice league. they have pulled all the characters from the park. Why woudl they put them back? The SF brand has pushed itself a a thrill park and TGE dosn't fit that bill.

According to info I got from an inside tour back in 2014, that building was repurposed into one of the Fright Fest haunts. I agree though that it would be great for another dark ride (Blizzard - their Scrambler - is enclosed).
