That's not in humptys spot. I think it's in between the two and is where the cottage used to be.

Between the 2 are the rest room and that Animatronic tree were you can leave your name on a leaf. The tree is more likely the cottages are much farther back.

I'll have to send out a message see what info i can get.

Visited Sotryland yesterday. no new ride. Did some digging and that picture is from a ride being added to Story Book Land in NJ. It will be called Out on a Limb.

The park like I was told before Nor Easter focused on Capital improvements. More on that coming in my Trip Report.

That doesn't even look like story land. You can tell from the picture because there is a different Old Lady in the Shoe building in the backround.

Ya It's obvious once you look closer. but in all the excitement you overlook the small details.

Just rode Roar-O-Saurus yesterday for the first time. It was pretty good. One thing I wasn't a fan of was those tight transitions that made the ride kinda rough. It had very solid airtime on every hill and pulled some great forces. I found the front to be rougher than the back and I can't decide what is better on this ride. It wasn't as good as WW imo but it was still a great little ride.

you summed it up well. I agree the transition are a bit too tight. That Plot was preexisting with a circus show operating for many year and then it sat empty after they built it until that attraction was added.

I don't believe this park is going to close. It's a rumor going around right now but I doubt it. People aren't the smartest.

Anyway, this park is going to be sold... again... time 4 in 10 years. Again I'm a bit worried.

Who's going to want to buy this park?

Would they change its target audience?

Would they remove the nostalgia still remaining?

Who would buy the park/chain is hard to say. most likely an investment firm that wants to get into the entertainment business. It would be hard to sell the park by itself. Your talking a park which gets around 400K a year and has 55 some odd acres developed. they own I think 65 or 70 acres in total. There is little options for expansion. My guess is is they opted to sell this is would be grouped with at least water country in Portsmouth NH if not also with LC.

No, what good would ti do them. The area is tourist based and mostly families. Look at Roar-o-sourus it's a coaster for older kids not really a thrill ride but still family. to be honest this was really the first ride that competed with the intensity of the rides at Santa's Village. There are not a lot of teens traveling up to the white Mountain and adults are mostly going for resorts and skiing.

we have already seen a lot of the Nostalgia vanish from Story land. It woudl be hard to say what would stay. the right owner might bring it back and expand upon it but another might not put in the effort. but for me a huge chunk of nostalgia was lost when they removed the cannon from the lab dome.

Visited Story Land last weekend. I got there at opening and was able to get my rides in on Dr. Geyser's before it developed a line later in the day. I still love that rapids ride and how unique it is.

Roar-o-saurus had some issues at opening, but the park did get it open around 11. Yes it does shimmy a bit on the tight transitions, but I really love that ride. Each hill gives a strong quick pop of air. I honestly prefer it to Wooden Warrior since it seems to do more with its layout. I loved the white board that tracked the number of loose articles since the start of the year. I saw a guy loose his iPhone and then was begging the park to stop operations to reclaim it.

Wow, the white board is new. Sounds like they were on top of the issue with the ride. I also enjoy Dr Geyser's but rarely ride it. I an not a fan of having to pay for a locker to put my bag away. I guest I could try dropping my bag by the exit next time and getting in line. I miss having he exit at the station especially since the new exit cuts the ride short.

Just wanted to sum everything up with the Nor Easter...

They retired the story land queen? That's extremely upsetting, one of the most nostalgic parts of the park... there are photos of my parents riding it, then me riding it decades later. Devastating, but I guess the capacity was not very good and the ride was rather long.

I wonder what they'll do with the sets, because the Pirate Ship uses the same lagoon. To be honest, I thought they'd retire the pirate before the iconic giant swan. It'd be a little creepy to see the soldiers on the bridge rotting away, and Prince Charming rusting on his horse lol.

Safari isn't a huge loss. A lot of it was removed I believe when the Splash Battle was added. So it was only a matter of time. It's nostalgic, but outdated, and not necessarily in a good way.

The aquarium is a cool and interesting idea. I would like to see the front of the park open with it year round too. Visiting Humpty Dumpty in the snow would be very interesting lol. Where exactly is it?

Did anyone see the adult party they're having in June? 21+ from 6-10 PM. What a cute idea, still too young but something to maybe consider moving forward! :D

Is Polar Coaster going to remain blue? Considering its theme there isn't a ton of options for its color choices.

The removal of the gift shop, is that the one near yum yum junction?

This park is changing rapidly. It really isn't much like it was when I was little... while I miss many nostalgic pieces like the cannon and now the story land queen, I'm glad the park is adapting to the next generation.

let me respond and help out a bit.
Capacity has nothing to do with it. the Swan boat holds as much as the pirate ship and nearly as much as the Canobie Queen. The ride is really only 15 or so minutes long and it uses a water way so not much else is going there. The issue brought up is a water level problem in the water way. I have noticed water level was low but the swan boat is bottoming out. so its getting stuck. I assume the cost to dredge it to make it deeper is not cost effective or they cant get it because of the other additions already in place.

The pirate ship uses a different channel and is a flat bottom boat so it has a shallower wake.

but i agree its a sad loss since this is one of those attraction you think of when you think of story land.
I agree and disagree. I agree the ride is nothing special. They did remove half of it and some of the best parks when they adding the splash battle. the shorter version never did work well. They removed the famous view of the back of the waterfall and the Shorter ride seemed rushed. i swear it take longer to load the road train then it dose to go through the layout.

My problem is the theme. Dinosaurs. This is no near Roar-a-souris and the dino area. in fact there is a themed area between this ride and the dino area. The Slipshod Safari is one of the original attraction in the friends Around the World themed area that runs the back of the park to Mexico. Dinosaurs have nothing do with that theme. They are also keeping the old ride system which is hard to get in and out of an is not wheelchair accessible. They could at least get a new road train that is.
I take it you know what Humpty Dumpty is, so your asking about the Auditorium. it will be build in the old Heritage NH building which is located to the Left of the park across the parking lot. The gift shop that is being converted to an restaurant in also connected to this building.

The Polar Coaster was already repainted and its remaining Blue.

That's a bummer about the safari. It was a must ride for me in any visit to Story Land.
