Ok so I finally made it too Lake Compounce so here's my new one. I should (if everything goes right) be going to CP, KI, and SFGAM next year. Hoping to maybe squeeze in Hershey before the year is up but I don't know if I'll be able to.

    1. El Toro
    2. STR
    3. Boulder Dash
    4. Wicked Cyclone
    5. Nitro
    6. Fury 325 (yeah, I'll explain)
    7. Afterburn
    8. Intimidator
    9. Kingda Ka
    10. Phobia

I thought Fury was massively overrated. My expectations were really high and it didn't even come close to meeting them and it kinda just ruined the Ride for me. Maybe if I got back to Carowinds with lower expectations it'll move up but for now it'll stay where it is.

It is a respectable list. Fury is higher for me but there is room for personal taste. Other than Phobia you have a list that has coasters that many enthusiasts would have in their top 10. It gets harder and harder to do the ranking as you get to more and more places. Enjoy the quest!

I just rode it a couple weeks ago and was also pretty disappointed with Fury. I definitely noticed that the lift hill was slowing to a crawl as it crested, maybe that has something to do with it, Idk.

But honestly the drop wasn't all that amazing, the out run was fun with some neat air, but not a game changer in any way. It was like doing I305s thing but not as good.

That treble clef turn around though, that element was awesome. That sideways drop was just excellent.

And then there was an odd rampy part, a trim, and then a helix where the best part was a headchopper with the supports. Decent airtime tossed in here and there, but it just didn't do it for me.

It was also pretty damn bouncy on the outside seats for a ride only 2 years old.

That said, it's still totally a top 10 ride. It just wasn't the new #1 that I was expecting.

Pretty neat (excuse the brag) but fury was # 300! And back in 2010 I305 was #200! I gotta do some more traveling before I head up to CW, I'm running out of gigas to break off a new hundo with. IMG_0814.JPG

^Your post made me go back and look at time between milestone coasters. 0-100 took 6 years with #100 being Kingda Ka. 100-200 took one year with # 200 being Galaxi @ Sylvan Beach. 200-300 took 2 years with #300 being Thriller @ Land of make Believe. 300-400 took 6 years with # 400 being Wicked Cyclone. 400-500 took 2 years with #500 being Beast. So 3 of the 5 milestones were ranked coasters but only WC in our top 10.

After just passing 150 coasters, my list goes something like this:

    Steel:

    1) Wicked Cyclone
    2) Intimidator 305
    3) Superman: The Ride
    4) Millennium Force
    5) Skyrush

    Wood:

    1) El Toro
    2) Voyage
    3) Phoenix
    4) Boulder Dash (dropped a spot with some iffy rides this season)
    5) Cornball Express

The top 3 steel and top 2 wood are kind of in a class of their own for me. I think I will start making tiers for my rankings because it is getting hard to compare. And honestly, the rankings can change by the day depending on so many different factors. I don't know how you guys with 300+ credits can make these lists with much certainty.

When you reach hundreds of coasters it is hard to rank them all. We don't even try. Lol. But you can remember your top ten or so pretty well.

My top 10 would be (Given I only have 82 creds)
    1. Maverick
    2. El Toro
    3. X2
    4. STR
    5. WiCy (these two can be swapped any given day)
    6. Tatsu
    7. Diamondback
    8. Banshee
    9. Full Throttle
    10. TTD

9 & 10 were actually pretty hard to think of since I dont have that many creds.

Definitely getting to CW soon since I have friends in Toronto I want to visit.

The season is pretty much over now, so here's what changed for me: (new credits are bolded)

    Old:
    1. Wicy
    2. STR
    3. Toro
    4. Boulder Dash
    5. Nitro
    6. Phoenix
    7. Xcelerator
    8. Batman The Ride
    9. Cali Screamin (I literally have no idea why I ranked it there)
    10. Talon (again, a dumb ranking)

    New:
    1. Toro (21 rides on it this year made me realize how amazing it is)
    2. Skyrush (7 rides, almost a perfect coaster)
    3. Wicy (8 rides, still running great for the most part)
    4. Iron Rattler (5 rides, absolutely nuts)
    5. Boulder Dash (24 rides plus first night rides)
    6. STR (3 rides, not very impressed this year)
    7. Nitro (5 rides, ran well)
    8. Phoenix (didn't ride)
    9. Xcelerator (didn't ride)
    10. Steel Force (honestly, riding steel eel made me realize how this coaster should be higher in my rankings)

I don't think I'll ever understand the hype for Nitro. It's a fun ride but its nowhere near the best hyper that B&M has made.

Yeah, I personally don’t care too much for Nitro. Whenever I do ride it, I always get off thinking that was okay but I never go out of my way to ride it. I don’t make it a priority to ride when I go to the park.

Talon is not a dumb ranking! I love Talon and I honestly believe it’s underrated. It’s one of the best B&M inverts. Excellent choice and definitely the best ride in the park.

Agreed. Talon is one of my Top 10 steelies and still my favorite at Dorney. Never had a disappointing ride on it.

Fair enough. It's been 2 years since I went out to Dorney, so I need more rides on it to rank it higher again. I walked away from Dorney with Talon as my favorite coaster there, but looking back I think steel force is a little better. Talon's still an awesome ride, it's my number 24 currently.
