Given his age I think he was looking to unload the park to keep in alive. If he didn't sell to SFI he would have looked to another company possibly Kennywood ent or Palace.

With no SFI means no Relocated used rides. so Bobsled would not be in the picture same with Canyon Blaster.
I would suspect Tornado would have seen a rehab and not have been removed.
The Jungle land theme would still be around but I suspect it may have still be turned into a kiddie land.
The Circus tent woudl still be around instead of Wiggles world.

I think from either company we would see more rides in the past but a similar influx of rides that we have seen lately

Wooden coasters wouldn't be an endangered species.

SFNE would be a tiny bit better.

What if B&M hypers gave ejector?

I see one of 2 options. Riverside still exists but with even less themeing. it woudl still have a couple big coasters. Cyclone woudl still be around and with the original drop. We would still also have shipwreck falls(the wave/Whitewater Falls). and no looney tunes or DC, we would hace a camp or planet snoopy.

    or

Rockey point would still be around

If Cedar Fair bought Riverside, Cyclone would still be here with its original drop, but the trims would likely still be there, too. Look how many classic Cedar Fair coasters have trims. And we would have ended up with a Morgan hypercoaster instead of an Intamin. We'd have a Windseeker instead of a Star Flyer, which would put Riverside in the news every few weeks.

On the other hand, we'd still have a solid flat ride lineup, and maybe even an awesome GCI coaster.

They would have a solid flat selection but its hard to say what they would have. most of the flats we have lost were added under premier. Tri star might still be around along with the sea dragon. we may not have blizard, CF ws more partial to Intamin rapids and they tend to be too big.

Not much would change. They would be out the better of the 2 inverts. They would open up room for something but it would need to be an another super compact coaster. Most likely it would be a sit down. My vote would be for a woodie to replace the lost cyclone.

It would probably still struggle given the development of SFNE and LC nearby, and RI would be short one state park today.

Rockey Point was one of the best developed parks our region had. more thrill rides then any other park. one possibility is that it may have become SFNE instead of Riverside. but much of that move was do to another company. Cedar Fair looked into this area, so it is possible that it would have become a CF park. they had land to expand and buying out neighboring houses was not out of the question. You also had the water right there so if I was in charge I would have built a large pear to accommodate a themed area.
This is actually something I know about.

The park was gettign by of a single corporate picnic alone. every other outing and ticket sold was profit. but attendance was low. but then the area took a huge hit after Devins Closed something that has since been developed with both housing and businesses. it woudl not be adding attraction all the time they had limited space but plans did call to convert some of the extra picnic grounds into ride space.

we woudl have another park that likes funtown and Quassy. smaller enjoyable and with a new attraction every few years.
